Looking for a place to take the kids for a special treat? Or, maybe you're ready for a nostalgic trip back to your childhood. You will put smiles on everyone's faces with a stop to Witt's End Candy Emporium in Bellevue, Kentucky.
Witt's End Candy has been open since Memorial Day weekend 2014 and is nestled into the Historic Fairfield Avenue Shopping District. The shopping district is filled with one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants and art galleries where you'll discover some eclectic gifts and fun treasures. Throughout December, each store along Fairfield Avenue has part of the text from How the Grinch Stole Christmas lettered on their store windows. As you stroll from store to store, you can read the whole story. You'll see the Grinch, along with Cindy Loo Who and Max the dog, at Witt's End.
Witt's End specializes in hard-to-find candy. Shoppers from every generation will see candy they remember from their childhood. On a recent visit, there were squeals of laughter and excitement when groups of shoppers entered the store and found candy they hadn't seen in decades!
Lining the shelves are specialty chocolates, gummi candy, rock candy, wax lips, Lego candy, cream filberts (sometimes known as Mothballs), Moon Pies, butterscotch discs, root beer barrels, freshly popped popcorn and so much more! They also have a section filled with RC Cola and other soft drink flavors from the past. You can create your own mix of colors to match school, wedding or event colors at the Candy Bar. The store also has a party room in back if you are looking for a unique space for a child's birthday party.
The store truly has that old-fashioned feel, with the beautiful hardwood floors and wooden shelves storing glass jars filled with colorful candy. When you make your selection, let the staff know and they will scoop the candy into a bag for you to take home.
Throughout the holidays, stop in for children's storytimes, crafts, carolers, dulcimer performances, and Joel the Singing Librarian. Of course, you can pick up special treats for Christmas, like Peppermint Bark and Christmas candy corn, too!
Witt's End Candy Emporium and the Historic Fairfield Avenue Shopping District are special treasures to discover!
