This free community event celebrates the reopening of Music Hall, the state-of-the art, newly-renovated iconic home of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati May Festival. The celebration will feature more than 50 live performances by these performing arts organizations and others at multiple stages and venues. All events are free and open to the general public. No tickets or reservations are required.
- The day kicks off at 8:30am with a free community breakfast in Washington Park which will also host live performances on two stages throughout the day.
- The official ceremony, with speeches and a trumpet fanfare, will begin at 9:30am on the steps of Music Hall with the leadership of the resident companies of Music Hall as well as community leaders who led the funding of the project who will officially reopen Music Hall at 10:00am.
- Tours and performances inside of Music Hall will begin at 10:30am.
- From 10:00am-3:00pm enjoy tours and performances at other nearby new venues: the all-new Otto M. Budig Theatre of the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; the newly renovated and expanded Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati; newly renovated Memorial Hall featuring a special Fotofocus exhibit entitled Second Century: Photography, Feminism, Politics. Additional performances will be held on two stages in Washington Park throughout the day.
