Katie and her husband, Michael, have four fabulous kids: Ella, Max, Sam and Henry. They enjoy exploring all of the nooks and crannies of our region, whether it be shopping at Findlay Market, walking through Devou Park, bike riding at the International Friendship Park, or grabbing donuts for breakfast at Holtman’s.

Describe Cincinnati USA in three words.
Always something happening!

Favorite Graeter’s ice-cream flavor?
Strawberry Chip (seasonal flavor); Mint Chip the rest of the year.

Must-ride coaster at Kings Island?
I’m a wimp…no coasters for me!  I’m a fan of White Water Canyon on hot days at Kings Island, though, so we can cool off!

Best spot for pre- or post-Reds game drink?
The Gruff in Covington, just  a quick walk over the Suspension Bridge before or after the game!

How do you order your Cincinnati-style chili?
Coneys with mustard + onion.

Favorite ArtWorks mural?
"An Epic of Time and Town” on the side of the John R. Green building in the Main Strasse Village.  I love how the “story” of Covington, her people, history, heritage and landmarks are depicted in a fun &  whimsical way.

Rainy day activity you’d recommend to a visitor?
The Cincinnati Museum Center is a great place to spend a rainy day, for any age, three museums and the OMNIMAX Theater in one grand building.

Weirdest dish you ever tasted…and loved!
Gator Bites at the Hebron Grille.  My son really wanted to eat alligator, so we all tried it.  They were delish!

Favorite hidden gem (that you’re willing to tell everyone about!)...
Wunderbar in Covington. It has great German cuisine, a huge beer selection and fabulous live music on select evenings.

Can’t-miss annual event that you always attend?
Northside’s 4th of July Parade. It’s the most unique Independence Day parade around, celebrating the beauty, diversity and community of our region.

Best view of the Ohio River...
Sitting on the swings along the river downtown in Smale Riverfront Park.

Most memorable concert you ever attended?
Years ago local band Over the Rhine held Christmas Concerts at the old Emery Theater – it was a beautiful experience.
