Describe Cincinnati USA in three words.
Communitarian. Historic. Persevbeering.
Favorite Graeter’s ice-cream flavor?
I always get two scoops: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip and Mocha Chocolate Chip.
Rainy day activity you’d recommend to a visitor?
Get the umbrella story of the Queen City under one roof at Cincinnati Museum Center. Learn about local heritage in the elaborate Cincinnati History exhibit, then take a free Rotunda Tour of the Art Deco train station that houses the artifacts, followed by a visit to Tower A for spectacular views of the city and railroad.
Weirdest dish you ever tasted…and loved!
Deep-fried grasshoppers. They tasted like kale chips!
Favorite hidden gem (that you’re willing to tell everyone about!)...
Tucker's Restaurant. A hole-in-the-wall diner that's been an Over-the-Rhine staple since the 1940s, Tucker's has phenomenal burgers, homecooked meals, and weekend brunch all for under $10 per person.
Best view of the Ohio River...
Licking Riverside Historic District in Covington, Ky.
Most memorable concert you ever attended?
A few years ago, my most-adored Broadway songstress, Idina Menzel (star of Wicked, RENT, and If/Then) performed live in concert with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra at Music Hall. She (and the Pops) shook the chandeliers with a spot-on performance and I had a chance to meet, hug, and get a selfie with her after the show.
