The free walk is a great event for getting the family in the holiday spirit while social distancing. On the Newport on the Levee side, stop by the The Wish Tree and give a gift to someone in need. Each year the Creation Museum turns its botanical garden into a dazzling Garden of Lights with thousands of lights and new designs each year during its ChristmasTown event. You might even encounter one of the Magi or other biblical characters roaming the garden. Plus, embrace the reason for the season with the annual live nativity. November 27 through December 30, 2020. The big man himself will be at Washington Park for socially-distanced visits to hear your wish list and pose for photos. Where can you see Santa, a reindeer and an elf rappel down the side of the building? On Fountain Square, of course! Enjoy family-friendly free fun with the aforementioned rappelling Santa, live holiday music by local choirs, and a fireworks display to cap it all off. After the program, take to the ice on the Fountain Square Ice Rink (admission fee and skate rental applies) or head to Carew Tower for Story Time with Mrs. Claus, complete with cookies and crafts.

Kick off the holiday season with more than 100 horse-drawn carriages parading through the historic town of Lebanon (1 pm and 7 pm). Visit with food and craft vendors before or after the parades, shop the local antique stores, and you can even visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Bring the whole family and enjoy Taft Museum of Art's annual Holiday Season Kickoff. The house will be fully decorated with Christmas cheer from the inside out, including the marvelous Antique Christmas collection of ornaments and displays. Families can craft their own ornament and holiday cards, snap a photo with Santa, listen to magical holiday stories, and even meet with an arctic penguin friend from Newport Aquarium. Taft Museum of Art offers free admission every Sunday to guests, so be sure to make a return visit.
