The crisp air of fall and winter...it's perfect soup weather!  I seriously love soup and chili.  I could eat them every single day for the rest of my life and be perfectly content.  I make soup at home A LOT and you can check out a ton of our favorite recipes on my site.  But sometimes, I just want someone else to make the soup because sometimes things taste better when someone else makes them.  Here are a few of our favorite places around town to get a steaming hot bowl of soup and chili.

1.  Dixie Chili

Ok, well, you can't really have a round-up of soup and chili in Cincinnati and not include Cincinnati-style chili.  That would be crazy!  There are, of course, those on Team Skyline and Team Gold Star, but what about Team Dixie?  I'm on that team.  Everyone has a favorite, and this is one of mine!  Three locations in Northern Kentucky: Covington, Erlanger and Newport

2.  Camp Washington Chili

So, since we're talking about Cincinnati-style chili, we have to talk about the one and only Camp Washington Chili.  It's a classic!  I really enjoy going to Camp Washington.  It's a unique Cincinnati tradition.  It's farther from my house than the other chili places, so I don't get there too much, but now that I am thinking about it, my mouth is watering, and I am planning my next trip!  3005 Colerain Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45225

3.  Chicken Soup from Agaves

This soup is my favorite.  It's just a bit spicy and a bit salty and the broth is perfect. It's made from scratch daily, and has chicken, rice, pico di gallo and avocados in it.  It comes with tortillas and limes ... and of course chips and salsa!  My mom brings it to me whenever anyone in my house is sick.  (Yay for awesome moms!)  And bonus: It's right across the street from the GAP factory store, so plan a trip across the river for some soup and deals. 2091 North Bend Road, Hebron KY 41042

4.  Pho from Pho Lang Thang

If you're feeling more exotic, you must get yourself to Findlay Market for a giant steaming bowl of Pho.  I love them all.  Pair it with a nice Bahn Mi and you are good for the day!  This Vietnamese soup is amazing: rice noodles, chicken or beef, cinnamon and clove, onions, peppers, ginger, cilantro, bean sprouts.  Is your mouth watering?  This savory, sweet, spicy, earthy soup must be tried!  You will be hooked. 114 West Elder Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202

5.  Vegetable Soup and Chili from Frisch's

I have a special place in my heart for Frisch's.  Waiting tables at Frisch's was my very first real job.  I got to sport those lovely gray polyester wrap skirts and a button down shirt with tiny Big Boys all over it.  It was a good look for a high school girl!  Also, my grandparents used to take us as there kids, so going to Frisch's for a fish sandwhich and veggie soup with them is a nice childhood memory.  And then I got to tour the Frisch's Commissary and watch them make all of the food that gets sent to the restaurants all over the tri-state.  They make this kettle-cooked hearty soup and chili with beans from scratch right at the commissary.  And to me, either one makes a nice, comforting and nostalgic meal. Locations all over the Tri-State.
