Nestled within the city limits, this passive park was acquired by the City in 1986 and has approximately 15 acres paved walking trails for exploring nature. The granite animals were donated by Florence Mall for use at the facility. The Evelyn M.
Stringtown Park is located on Kentucky Route 18 (Burlington Pike) between Kathryn and Wallace Avenues on 8 acres in the eastern section of the City. The City purchased the property in the spring of 2001 from the estate of Isabella Schmidt.
The Veterans Memorial of Boone County was conceived in 1995 when H.B. Deatherage, a Viet Nam veteran, was deeply moved by the fact that veterans in Boone County had no place to heal wounds and memories of war.
